“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place from with new eyes and extra colours. And the people there see you differently too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”

And That My Dear, Changes Everything

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (August 2016)

“I urge you to travel. As far and as much as possible. Work ridiculous shifts to save your money. Go without the latest IPhone. Throw yourself out of your comfort zone. Find out how other people live and realize that the world is much bigger than the town that you live in. And when you come home, home may still be the same. Yes, you may have to go back to your same old job. But something in your mind will have changed. And that my dear, changes everything.”

“Life is a one time offer. Use it well.”

This weekend, I was able to check another item off my bucket list! I cycled from my city to a small village in Belgium called Meers. The round trip was close to 40 kilometres and I completed this in just a few hours. Best of all, the weather has been finally looking up as it did not rain all afternoon.

Find The Tiny, Hidden Gardens In Your Life

Brussels, Belgium (May 2016)

“Let’s not travel to tick things off lists or collect half hearted semi treasures to be placed in dusty drawers in empty rooms. Rather, we’ll travel to find grounds and rooftops and tiny hidden parks, where we’ll sit and dismiss the pass time, spun in the city’s web until we have surrendered. Content to be spent and consumed. I need to feel a place while I am in it.”
